Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Natalie Butler is a marine and freshwater conservation researcher with a strong penchant for art. With roughly 10 years of sewing under her belt, she's still and avid sewist and casual graphic artist. Her work is always overflowing with personality, no matter what form it takes.
Largely concentrating on sewing and pattern drafting, she is recognized for her intricate and varied costumes and pieces. Her works reflect inspiration from fantastical, historical, and contemporary fashion. Elegant, wacky, colourful, and fancy are words used to describe any of her final products. Dresses, hats, accessories, you name it, she will find a way to put it together with her own spin.
Alongside her passion for couture, she translates her creativity to one of a kind drawings, paintings and the odd comic. You may find a sense of gloom, or a sense of optimism in what you see, they are always open to interpretation. She is sure not to over complicate her canvas, maintaining the result as something easy to fall in love with.
When you need some colour and spice in your life, the art of Natalie Butler is the way to go.
