Men Friends is a duo that came together in early 2019, consisting of Bristol-based singer/songwriter cutmesum.flac (formerly Ree) and Canadian-French producer/rapper Kamil Henri. Expressive vocal performances and tone driven production are channeled by the duo’s strengths, and weaknesses, to create their first project together: “Self Service”.
This 25 minute album, Self Service, is a confessional exploration on how to get by when emotions rule over. With both cutmesum.flac and Kamil experimenting with vocals, muproduction and songwriting.
The duo's influences can be heard throughout the project, including the likes of Kero Kero Bonito, Tyler The Creator, Childish Gambino and Death Grips. To create a sweet and salty piece, with an aggressive nature, a subtle nod to the chaos of city life through the eyes of anxious creators.
